#yolandaPH

such a tough situation for the philippines... for visayas...

the strongest typhoon ever recorded in the philippine history caused massive damage to homes, properties/infrastructure and livelihood.

and my beloved cadiz was not spared :(  signal #4 resulted to this...

mom went home last thursday and the typhoon struck the next day.  mom said it was mala-delubyo in intensity.  she was crying out to God, praying and praising Him at the same time.  i was agitated the whole time especially that she was only with my sister-in-law and 10yr old niece and 1yr old nephew...  good thing they never lost telecom signal so i was able to monitor them every 15mins during the entire 1.5hrs ordeal.

i am thankful that my family is well with very slight damage to our home.  aside from the lack of electricity until now (and expected to last in the next 15days as 151 posts got damaged), my family is generally ok.  so my heart goes out to people who have lost everything (including loved ones) due to this...

i have helped and will continue helping by:
  • foregoing personal gifts including for xia
  • foregoing chatime breaks (averaging 3x / weekday)
  • foregoing lunch-outs and dine-outs in the next 4 weeks (unless free!)
  • arranged a garage sale of office clothes
  • donating my and xia's old clothes (and we have accumulated a lot!)
  • asking more help from friends
all proceeds from these activities including personal sacrifices will go to yolanda survivors in my hometown.

with the bayanihan of filipinos and the help from other countries, no doubt in my heart that visayans will soon rise up, stronger than ever!!!
