negros roadtrip 2012

we are ending the year with our annual post-christmas trip of negros.  no specific itinerary - just go with the flow...  but we would have wanted to visit the beaches of sipalay but a day before the trip, i tried calling up for reservation but got so surprised that all of the 5 beaches i contacted were fully-booked!  i did not know it can get that busy for beaches on a cool december... 

anyway, we pushed through after booking a night in campuestohan - the only single room available.  but before that, we made a quick stop at The Ruins - a now famous landmark in bacolod...  

the place did not disappoint.  especially with the nice pictures the hired cameraman took of us! 

pitstop #2 is campuestohan highland resort - 45mins drive from bacolod city.  it has the tagaytay-ish feel and we love the log cabin we stayed in.  quite a new mountain resort - so still has so many to improve on.  nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay - more so the kids as it has a huge playground and nice kiddie pool.  

it was so good to have communed with nature as well...  

there was no concrete plan after campuestohan so we thought of driving up negros oriental to visit family in tanjay and dumaguete.  i haven't gone there for almost 5 years already so it was worth the long drive via mabinay.  

pitstop #3 was the old house of my lolo and lola where my dad grew up and where we spent most of our summers as kids.  so much memories there...  too bad the house was almost torned apart.  it has been abandoned for quite a time now... hope one of us cousins can win the lotto so we can put up the same house again for our kids to enjoy in!  

we had to pass by the rizal park in tanjay also to meet xia's baby cousin (2nd degree) for the first time.  look, she's wearing xia's baby clothes :)  

pitstop #4 was dumaguete!  we gave uncle jun and auntie eva a surprise call that we're coming to visit that same night.  so we arranged a dinner at moon cafe in the new robinson's mall.  we also had to go to the freedom park to see the lights set up in their capitol.  and just drove around the famous boulevard. 

 

stayed overnight in uncle jun and aunt eva's beautiful home :)  and met another 2nd cousin, kuya sean.  

i have been dying to go to a beach and swim so we were looking for one.  we decided to stopover at amlan's paradise beach resort.  it was a gloomy day though so we just decided to enjoy the place and the food!  

we came back home via san carlos so we technically went around negros occidental and oriental.  it was a goood loooong ride with so much fun and laughter shared inside our trusted innova :)  

cheers to more roadtrips in 2013!  

1st school christmas party

xia attended her first school christmas party last dec 21 - o diba, parang college lang sa late ng school nila mag christmas party!  theirs was just a very simple one - parents were requested to bring any food to share for the kids and a P200 worth of educational gift.  

the kids seemed to have enjoyed the party.  too bad the camera ran out of batt but the yaya was able to get some decent pics naman.  they had a short  presentation pa...

 

looks like kinareer ulit ng bulinggit ko ang song and dance number nila kahit hindi sa stage! :)  

xia has bonded well with her classmates too.  me pa tweetums pose pa with the girlfriends uma and raya...

as expected though, she did not enjoy food...  for sure walang nakain ang anak ko.  hay...

xia had a good time and got a lot of christmas gifts!

we are in the province now and in prep for our christmas celebration, the bro bought a live goat for caldereta.  the goat stayed at the backyard for a night and xia was able to see him.  

the next day, xia was looking for the poor goat.  we saw him chopped already. told xia that was the goat and we will eat him for our christmas dinner.  

this is what she exactly said:  "we don't eat him.  he's not a food.  he's an animal".  LOL.  

maybe she will grow up a vegan?  hehehe...

while xia loves to talk most of the time - asking endless questions like what is this, how is that and why - there was one instance when she told me this:  

"mama, i don't want to answer you.  my mouth is tired!"  

i don't remember the exact question, but i knew it was answerable by just a yes or a no...  and with that long answer, she should have answered me with a yes or a no hahaha!!!

xia is starting to get fonder of talking over the phone.  she enjoys talking to people especially her cousin in the province - ate jai...

the conversation would normally revolve around the new baby in the house - baby jah, about decorations in the house to anything and everything under the sun...

one time in the car and she's making kulit, i told her in a nanggigigil way "xia stop it.  or else i will bite you"...  

all of us laughed in the car.  and to her fury she blurted: "i'm not a food guys!  our food is at home."  

we laughed even harder.  

yes, kids say the darnest things :P  

she's the sweetest girl!

i have the sweetest babe!  

brought xia some knicknacks last night.  gave it to her when she woke up today.  and i can't believe she knows how to appreciate na!  

the gift is just 50 each so it's not the pricey kinds - i don't buy her pricey toys anyway hehehe... what she gave me in return was priceless!!!

did you just hear her say "wow" "thank you very much, mama" "so beautiful" and "nice one"?  

that's my girl!!!  

now, if only i can afford to give her presents everyday! hahaha!  

xia on stage!

the first 2 days of this week were spent for xia's rehearsals at the carlos p. romulo theater in rcbc tower, makati.  

i was excited to see her on stage after months of practice in school.  no anxiety whatsoever - i trust my kid, she will do well.  and if she doesn't, it's fine, no pressure - i just want her to have fun!  

she ended up as one of the stariray kids! :)  she's very focused, she knows what to do and tries really hard to not get distracted with other kids who don't know what to do...

day 1

for day 2, they had the dress rehearsal.  they were all so cute in their animal costumes.  my wee one was one of the leopards :)  

and she did absolutely great in all the three numbers she was in!!!

i am sooo proud of my lil girl...  ms. lizel approached her on our way out from the auditorium and congratulated xia for a job well done in the rehearsals... teehheee!!!
