how to tell if it's time to send your child to preschool...

that's the article i read through in a good housekeeping magazine i got over the weekend.  too late to consider for my bulinggit since i have already enrolled her in summer camp and pre-school. 


so how to tell if xia is ready?  

1)  interaction with others - if the kid has prior experience on playdates or social interactions with others and don't find difficulty to mingle.  

CHECK! - she's used to play in the playground with all the kids in the condo since she was very baby :)  she has attended kindermusik for 12 months and love to be around with her classmates.  

2)  interest in books and learning, follows simple instructions, stick to a routine or even sit for a short period of time.   

CHECK!  while she doesn't regularly read books, but when she does, she gets to every page and gives her own interpretation.  i can ask her to get her slippers, shoes, clothes or pick up anything she dropped from the floor or get something from one point to another.  she's attentive to her cartoon tv shows too! 

3) fine motor skills - can move around without stumbling. 

SUPER CHECK!  out of the 3 criteria, i can say that this is where she's strongest at :)  she started walking when she was only 10 months.  she can now run, hop, jump, skip without stumbling.  she has strong bones i believe!  

and to top this all, she talks about SCHOOL all the time! 


now, i have to ask myself if i'm ready for this as this has to force me also to wake up early so i can send her to school.  that's going to be a challenge.  but hey, i can do ANYTHING for my dear xia :)  


so i'm counting myself in in looking forward for school! :)
