Where did the time go???

Looking at the recent photo of Xia from our family studio pictorial makes me sigh and ask "Where did the time go???".  She seemed to have grown sooo fast!

There was no time lost for us, we are always together and never missed a milestone...  We have shared so much wonderful time together - from ordinary days, usual chika time to our fun travels...  I swear I never winked!  But why do I still feel that time rolled by in a zoom???

Is it just me being sentimental? 😥😥😥

I am my daughter's hero!

Nothing can ever beat the feeling when your daughter sees you as a hero who deserves a monument.

Xia recently did a school work as part of her performance task in English and AP and she was asked to name a person who deserves a monument.  She chose ME!!!  And what she tells about why it's me is sooooo heartwarming!

She sees all what I do for her!  It's all done out of unconditional love for her and with that, I deserve a monument, no less!!!

Oh, Xia - I will do everything to love you and care for you and protect you with all my might - with or without a monument.  But just mere recognition that I deserve so makes my heart melt.

I love you my dear Xia!  💋💓💓💓💋

Parent's day celebration...

Celebrated Parent's Day at Xia's school a few weeks ago.  Kids prepared surprises for us and that included personal notes. They read their notes aloud in class and what Xia wrote for me and to the 3 parents I personally know are the things we consistently do for them...

Xia knows me and appreciates me as her tutor because no matter how difficult it is for me as a busy working mom, I take time to provide guidance on her studies.  I am a cheerer, supporter and her #1 fan too...  Of course she remembers our reward system (she works hard for every toy she gets)! ;)

Thank you, Xia!  This means a lot to me...  I will always cheer you up and cheer you on!!! 😘❤👄😘

best travel buddy

I can't wait for another travel adventure with Xia!  It's going to be soon, yahoo!!!

Xia is the coolest travel buddy.  She loves the airplane rides, the sightseeing, learning the culture of other people...  I wish she would love the food, too - but being the picky eater that she is, that's the least that she finds pleasure in.  I am sure she will get there in no time :)  Mamamana din nya for sure ang katakawan ko hehehe...

Here's reminiscing some of our travels together that didn't make it into this blog because I was too lazy...  Still hoping I can document the details here soon when I go into my sabbatical from work.

So fun to travel with my little miss!  She's no-fuss, always-on-the-go, can-walk-miles kind of a companion, really awesome!!!

We are off again in two weeks to bond more and collect precious memories (and great pictures) again!!!

Another GOLD!!!

My heart is full.  Thank you Lord for the blessings!  Xia made it again as Gold Eagle awardee for Grade 2 1st term.

The struggle is real but the hardwork and exhaustion paid off!!!

Thank you for always making us proud, Xia!!!

xia: my everything!

Xia has grown up so fast!  I can't really stop the time no matter how much I want to.  I just enjoy every moment with her...

We call each other BFFs (yes, best friends forever!).  At this early, I am already telling her that we will not keep secrets to each other and we will trust each other no matter what - because that's what bestfriends do...  ðŸ˜ŠðŸ˜ŠðŸ˜Š

I am always looking forward to our time together.  I have given up my own social life because time with her is more precious.  When she's grown up and would prefer her friend's company, then maybe I can go back to having social life haha!

So happy for long weekends and beach trips which we both really liked.  And I enjoy the trips without a yaya because I can be what I really want to be:  a mom!

Xia has got it all!!!

I can't stop thanking God for blessing me with Xia - the ever smart, talented and pretty kid!!!

Today, she received her Gold Eagle award at the Final Honors awarding ceremony!

Unfortunately, the official pictures from the awarding will not be available until a month after.  So will post the behind the scenes for the meantime...

I am soooo happy that our hardwork last schoolyear paid off!  It was a lot of hardwork really!!!  Success is way too sweet now :)

Aside from getting her Gold Eagle award, Xia showcased her dancing diva skills when her class performed a dance number during the ceremony.  Not being biased about it, but Xia was the best dancer among all of them.  This video will certainly prove my claim!

xiaism 2015-1: best valentine moment...

reposting from facebook my convo with xia last night before sleeping.  this is way too precious that i want it replicated in all medium hehe.  i also had to include the heartwarming comments from friends :)  and the likes are still growing in numbers!!!

she continues to be the sweetest girl who appreciates the little things.  looking back at our valentine's day yesterday - it was just an ordinary day except for the greetings and the heart lollipop i gave her and she gave me back a tiny white flower she carefully picked from mommy-la's garden...

the rest of the day was spent as usual: ballet, snacks, cheap toy, ipad, and dined out his papa nene and his family....

as to her ballet practice, i thinks she appreciates it that i am the only mama there who watches her from start to finish.  i am still taking pics and videos as if it was her first month while this is already her 8th!  i am there even if it is too uncomfortable (but gotten used to it!) because i had to sit on the floor from outside, watching her through the windows and not even hearing anything from inside...  it just occurred to me now that while it appears mundane already, she sees it all, takes it to heart and most of all appreciates it!!!

i remembered my conversation with another mama at school when we met again in the field demo recently.  i just recalled that she was there in the initial PTA meeting but i haven't seen her again until the field demo (there has been parent's day, field trip, family mass, etc).  so when i saw her again, she shared to me that she has to be there because nathan told her already that she's the only mama who's not there.  the field demo ended up too crowded and it's close to impossible for your kid to see you so she said she waved her hands and even her bag, shouted and screamed at the top of her lungs to get noticed by nathan...  i got moved by her story.  i took out my judgments of her why she can't make time.  i avoided comparing her to my situation because i also have a demanding work.  i just sincerely told her how she made nathan very happy that time and how nathan for sure appreciates the way she tried to get noticed and was successful at it...

as for my case, i just have to thank God because He prepared me for this difficult situation.  God gave me a job that i can spend flexi hours on; i have an understanding boss who's a dedicated father himself - who allows me any time i need for xia and willing to cover for me when i have to be out (and i do the same for him); and i was blessed with a very caring yaya for xia who makes sure that i am reminded of xia's school needs.  of course, there have been trade-offs because i had to turn down an opportunity to replace my boss when he moves to the US primarily because taking on that responsibility would mean lesser time to spend on xia.  but i don't have any regrets about it because xia is first!  and i have now another opportunity which may end up suiting us way better :)

i didn't intend for this post to be this long hahaha!!! it just means that i missed blogging. and there's so much thoughts that need to be written :)

so much important things to document pa here which needs time - xia got gold again in the 2nd quarter, she was chosen to represent her class in the Got Talent, she joined a ballet performance, and soooo much more!!!

i will find time!!! :)

halloween fun part 1!

it's that time of the year again, when i go all out in dressing up xia :)  it is becoming a tradition.  it won't last for long - i am giving it 2 more years before xia finds it corny to dress up for halloween hehehe...

we went to 2 trick or treat parties - first one at the village and the next one at our office (gee, first time in my almost 9yrs at DKS!).

she asked me this time if she can go as a princess.  i don't really fancy princesses that's why she hasn't been a princess in the last 3yrs.  but i had to give in this year.

so she came as princess sofia (the 1st) at the village event.

we also invited kuya matt over to join the trick or treat...  he came as a soldier :)  they look really cute!!!

xia had fun going around the village asking for treats!  she joined the village kids and had a grand time :)

she met maleficent along the way - who won the 3rd place for the best in costume contest...

she met more friends in different costumes.  she's not just too fond of scary costumes so she doesn't get so near them hehehe...

there was a puppet and a magic show that followed which delighted the kids :)

what a good time for the kids (and adults too!)...  xia brought home lots of sweets.  she certainly had a blast!!!

i guess i had to have another post on the 2nd event to give justice also to the strories behind it :)

ciao!

grateful for today...

my heart is sooo full - all the time!  but today is even more special for two reasons...

xia's school celebrated the United Nation's Day.  i really love the way her school celebrates events like this - no fuss, no frills and no stress to parents!  totally suits me.  just like from the linggo ng wika, the kids were just advised to go school with any national costume.  they can even use the filipinianas if nothing else is available.  i had to do a little effort of asking friends for old costumes of their kids and was able to borrow a grasskirt from xia's ninang ann.  i just bought cheap accessories from the all P66 store to go with it :)  i am in no way going to spend more for it hehe...

i was surprised to find out from her yaya that she took home one of the best in costume awards!  there are 3 awardees in every class and she took one of those!!! i am very pleased about it especially that i didn't spend much for it haha!

but that is not just that!  xia got her midterm exam results for the 2nd sem and she got an almost perfect score again!!!  oh yeah, there's another stubborn 1 point missed but i am not complaining...  xia was just too amazing!!! #loveyourown ;)

i get emotional at this because sometimes i think of giving up the tutoring and just hire someone who can help xia out.  it's no easy feat to go home from work (with all the stress esp that i am into this very complex project now!) and had to review her with her lessons before bedtime and do it again when we wake up.  i have to prepare worksheets while she sleeps to leave to her to do after school just in case i can't go home early the next night.  i have these huge eyebags now i swear!!!

but honestly, i love doing this for her even if i am dead tired!  she has so much energy when we do this together.  so i can't just stop like that.  besides, time will come when she won't need me anymore and would prefer to do things on her own.  so i'd better cherish these moments when all she wants to be with is mama :)

kaya ko to! :) aja lang ng aja hehehe!!!
